The fee for a marriage license is $50.00. Payment can be made either by cash or credit card. No personal checks will be accepted.

The applicants must appear before the clerk together. One of the applicants must be a resident of Ross County, Ohio. If both applicants are from out of state they must be getting married in Ross County, Ohio. If the out of State applicants are getting married in another county in Ohio, they must obtain their marriage license in that county.

All applicants must present photo identification.

If you have been married before, you must present a copy of your divorce decree for each and every marriage.

If your spouse is deceased, you must present a copy of the death certificate.

There is no blood test or waiting period and the license is effective immediately and is valid for sixty (60) days.

The Probate Judge can solemnize marriages; however, this is done by appointment only. Please contact the Court to schedule an appointment. There is a $25.00 fee.
