E-Check Online or By Phone

 

E-check lets you make electronic payments from your bank account quickly and easily.  There’s no worrying if the check will arrive on time or get lost in the mail and no sign up or PIN access is required.  You’ll need your bank account and bank routing numbers.  (These numbers are located at the bottom of a paper check.) Transactions completed by 11:59 p.m. on the due date are considered timely and will not be charged a late penalty. The processor charges a $2.00 fee for each bill you pay.  See FEE FOR USE below.

CONVENIENT AND FLEXIBLE

This payment method is available globally to anyone with a U.S.-based bank account.  Personal and business checking and savings accounts may be used and payments are settled through the same system used for processing paper checks.

PROVEN SAFE AND RELIABLE

This service is safe and reliable. The Ross County Treasurer’s office has selected Official Payments Corporation to provide this service to Ross County Taxpayers.  Official Payments Corporation also provides online payment processing services to the Federal Government and the State of Ohio.  You will be issued a confirmation number for each successfully completed transaction and email confirmation is available instantly.

FEE FOR USE

The processor charges a $2.00 fee for each transaction.  This fee is not charged by the Ross County Treasurer’s office and Ross County receives no portion of this fee.  A separate transaction is required for each parcel or account you wish to pay.

To pay by phone, call toll free 1-800-2PAY-TAX (800-272-9829).  When asked, you will need to enter the Jurisdiction Code 4538.

You will need the following information to complete a payment:

• The type of tax
• A parcel or account number (depending on the type of tax)
• Your bank account and bank routing numbers
• The amount of the tax payment 

The system will:

• Tell you the total of your payment and fee
• Issue an onscreen confirmation number. Confirmation is emailed to users who request it.  For phone payments, you will be given a confirmation number.  Please write down and retain this number.
